The silver bottle of Ponche Caballero is so recognisable in any Spanish bar that the reference needs no lengthy introduction. Inside is a Spanish liqueur made in Spain with brandy as its base, enriched with orange peel, vanilla, cinnamon and cloves to build a warm, sweet and spiced profile that has accompanied after-dinner gatherings for generations. At 25% ABV in a 700ml bottle, it has a moderate but very aromatic presence.

Serve it chilled in a small glass or over ice to ease its density. It also works as the base of warm punches in winter, or mixed with sparkling water and a citrus touch for a long aromatic drink. Its spiced character gives it a personality that goes well beyond a simple after-dinner digestif.
