Description
A rigorous selection of old centenarian pre-phylloxera vines gives rise to Matsu El Viejo 2020, the great aged wine represented by the grandfather on the label. At 15% ABV in a 750ml bottle in Toro, this Tempranillo matures for sixteen months in new French oak barrels. Made in Spain.
Its enormous meatiness and fineness establish it in high-end gastronomy. Enjoy it on important occasions pairing with big game meats, truffled dishes or mature cheeses.
Tasting Notes
- Appearance: Deep mahogany of great concentration in the glass.
- Aroma: Complex and evolving, with exotic spices, sweet tobacco and black fruit compote.
- Palate: Extremely powerful, structured and refined, with silky tannins.
- Serve: At about 16-18 °C with big game, mature cheeses or truffled recipes.
